White Pine Bath & Brew is a woman-owned small business created in the summer of 2020 in the heart of South Portland, Maine by Owner/Founder Elaine Kinney. Struggling with burn-out from a career in social services during the height of the pandemic, Elaine found herself searching for inspiration in new and creative places.

Upon discovering the multitude of benefits from incorporating beer into skincare, Elaine left her position in special education and started White Pine Bath & Brew. Here, Elaine brings the restorative power of Maine beer to you by handcrafting premier, small batch soaps from local brews. The hops in beer is anti-inflammatory, soothing irritated skin. Meanwhile, the brewer's yeast is vitamin-rich, keeping your skin moisturized and nourished throughout the day and across all seasons! Through her relationship with local breweries, Elaine learned the amount of beer that is wasted in the brewing industry as an inevitable part of the canning process. Since this discovery, White Pine Bath & Brew has adopted a mission to source beer primarily from this production excess to reduce waste across both the skincare and brewing industries. Elaine's goal is to source beer for her soap exclusively from upcycled beer, ensuring that as the business grows, so does its impact.
